SPEECH AND DRAMA – 6th November 2010  

PLEASE READ RULES AND INFORMATION BEFORE SENDING AN ENTRY  

COSTUMES ARE NOT ALLOWED EXCEPT IN CLASS 233.  

Verse should be performed from memory. 

Bible readers must use the ‘Good News’ or ‘Authorised Version’ as specified. 

Prose Reading is to be read from the selected book, not learned. 

In all Drama Classes time limits include the title/introduction.

Title and author of own-choice acting pieces should be sent to the Speech & Drama Secretary by 22nd October.

Copies of all own-choice pieces should be given to the adjudicator prior to the performance. 

Teachers should ensure that the words of set pieces are taken from the texts specified, as versions can differ, particularly if obtained from the Internet.  If you have any difficulty please contact the secretary.

All correspondence must include a stamped addressed envelope for reply, addressed to the Speech & Drama Honorary Secretary:

In Classes 249 - 252 all poems must be the work of the competitor and a legible copy of the poem along with the time required for reading must be sent to the Drama Secretary by 9th October.  Competitors must attend the festival in person to read their poem.

4 Competitors will be selected by the adjudicators to compete for the title Stockton Festival Young Speech & Drama Champion at the Prizewinners’ Concert on Saturday 4th December at 7.00p.m First Prize £50.00 Second Prize £25.00
